How do I change which meetings Focal auto-joins?

Answer

Go to Settings > Joining meetings and select one of the four auto-join rules to control which meetings Focal automatically records.

Steps

  1. Click Settings in the left sidebar
  2. Click Joining meetings
  3. Under "Auto-Joining Calendar Events", select your preferred option:
    • There's an external guest — joins meetings with at least one participant outside your internal domain list
    • I'm the organizer — joins meetings you created
    • A video link is present — joins all meetings with a conferencing URL
    • Only if I manually add — never auto-joins; you toggle each meeting individually from the Today page

Good to know

  • If you select "There's an external guest," you can configure your internal domains below the auto-join options. Domains listed there are considered internal (e.g., meetwithfocal.com).
  • Regardless of your auto-join setting, you can always manually toggle individual meetings on or off from the Today page.
