FFocal didn't join my meeting
Last updated: February 7, 2026
Answer
If Focal didn't join your meeting, the most common cause is that the meeting didn't match your auto-join settings or was missing a video conferencing link.
Common causes
1. Meeting didn't match your auto-join rule
Your auto-join setting may not include this meeting type.
Fix: Go to Settings > Joining meetings and check which auto-join rule is selected. If set to "Only if I manually add," toggle each meeting individually from the Today page.
2. No video conferencing link in the calendar event
Focal needs a Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet link in the calendar event.
Fix: Edit the calendar event and add a video conferencing link.
3. Calendar not connected
Focal can only see meetings from a connected calendar.
Fix: Go to Settings > Integrations and verify your calendar is connected.
4. Meeting was internal-only
If you use "There's an external guest," meetings with only internal participants won't trigger auto-join.
Fix: Switch to a different auto-join rule or manually toggle the meeting from the Today page.
