IT Setup: Enable Browser Microphone Permissions

Focal requires your browser's microphone permissions for in-person meeting transcription on desktop web and mobile web. Please see the instructions for each browser below.

Google Chrome

On a computer

  1. At the top, click the icon to the left of the website address.

  2. Find Microphone and choose Allow.

  3. If you see Reload, click it.

If that doesn’t show up:

  • Go to Menu (⋮) → Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Microphone.

  • Make sure app.meetwithfocal.com is Allowed.

On a phone or tablet

  • Android: Open Chrome → Menu (⋮) → Settings → Site settings → Microphone → turn on Chrome. Go back to Chrome and reload.

  • iPhone/iPad: Open the Settings app → Privacy & Security → Microphone → turn on Chrome. Go back to Chrome and reload.

Microsoft Edge

On a computer

  1. At the top, click the icon to left of the website address.

  2. Set Microphone to Allow.

  3. Reload the page.

If that doesn’t work:

  • Go to Menu (⋯) → Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Microphone

  • Make sure app.meetwithfocal.com is Allowed.

On a phone or tablet

  • Android: Open Edge → Menu (☰) → Settings → Site settings → Site permissions → Microphone → turn on Edge. Go back to Edge and reload.

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → turn on Edge. Go back to Edge and reload.

Apple Safari

On a Mac

  1. Safari → Settings… → Websites → Microphone.

  2. Find app.meetwithfocal.com and set it to Allow.

  3. Go back to the page and reload.

If your Mac is blocking it:

  • System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → turn on Safari, then reload.

On iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → turn on Safari.

  2. Go back to Safari, reload the page, and tap Allow if asked.

Mozilla Firefox

On a computer

  1. Click the microphone icon or the lock next to the address.

  2. Choose your mic and click Allow.

  3. If it says blocked: click the lock → Permissions, uncheck Use Default, set Microphone to Allow, then reload.

On a phone or tablet

  • Android: Open Firefox → Menu (⋮) → Settings → Site settings → Microphone → turn on Firefox. Go back to Firefox and reload.

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → turn on Firefox. Go back to Firefox and reload.
