How do I set data retention policies?

Answer

Go to Admin > Firm settings to configure how long Focal keeps your conversation data and transcripts. You can set separate retention periods for each.

Steps

  1. Go to Admin > Firm settings
  2. Under Conversations Retention Period, select how long to keep conversation data
  3. Under Transcripts Retention Period, select how long to keep transcripts only
  4. Save your changes

Good to know

  • "Forever" removes the retention policy — data is kept indefinitely.
  • Transcript retention only deletes raw transcripts. Summaries, tasks, and emails remain.
  • Only Admins can change data retention settings.
